I am not even two weeks in and I am already the biggest cheater you could possibly imagine. I didn’t get a photo of my outfit on Friday, so I just Polyvored it instead.

As usual, I wore the super comfy black BDG pants, and I added a J Crew tank top with my Pins and Needles sweater.

Also I was looking like death so that can be my excuse for not taking a photo. WHATEVA.

I wore yellow pants yesterday. Yellow. Pants…. They were fantastic, minus the part where I forgot a belt and they were falling down all day. I think it is pretty pbvious I didnt try too hard yesterday to look nice. I wanted to be comfortable more than anything. That will be the Tuesday trend. Every Tuesday morning we have a staff meeting in the coldest room in our office and we sit for hours. I don;t want to be fretting about how my shirt is falling or if my thigh is being stabbed by something under the table. So, blazer and pants for me.

Also, my iSight has been acting up and all of my photos are turning out way too bright. I fixed the problem today (Wednesday) but its too late for this outfit. Oh well.

I spent the day today at a work conference. I wanted to ook nice, but be prepared to it on my butt all day. I wore my favorite dress right now, from Banana Republic. A month or so ago it was named the “must have dress of the summer” on the Today Show. As I was watching this I was sitting in a hotel in DC, wearing this dress. Faaaantastic.

The blazer is a super light weight linen by Silence and Noise. I have been wearing it too much lately.

Pyrite has been on my mind a lot lately. I have this wrapped chunk from UO, then matching earrings. The other day I found a pyrite barrette from Anthropologie on sale so that will be in my clutches in the next few days.

These shoes sucked today. Obviously wearing them for the first time on a day when I would walk a lot was a poor choice. Once they are broken in, I’ll be wearing them a lot more.

Sorry that the past few posts have been late, and they suck. Right now I am watching Wet Hot American Summer and enjoying it too much.

My outfit today was the worst choice possible. Worst. It would be nice to wear anywhere BUT work.

The top half was comfortable. Target tee and J Crew cardigan. The bad part was this silly Silence and Noise skirt. It wanted to ride up all day, to be all the way on the top of my waist, almost below my chest. I was pulling and tugging at it all day to make it stay down. Not an enjoyable way to send your work day.

Also, the sweater was bunching up in the back so I ended up throwing on my black Uniqlo blazer I keep in my office and giving up.

Maybe I’ll try this skirt again on a weekend, but never again to work.

Anyways, Friday I wore this chiffon blouse from Anthropologie for the first time. This may be a little TMI, but typically whenever I wear sheer tops I wear a nude leotard from American Apparel underneath, because it doesn’t cause any odd lumps and bumps from bunching, and its just too comfy. Well on Friday morning I couldn’t find one of my trusty leos so I just threw on a nude cami from Loft. Terrible idea. It was bunching and awkward and it seemed to believe it was meant to be worn as a belly shirt, and not a tank top. It was too tight and spandex-y for my liking. Never again.

Otherwise, I was in love with this top. I promise the sleeves are the same length. I don;t know what kind of trickery was happening here. I blame that damn tank top.

No surprise, threw on the BDG skinnies. Don’t judge me.

The shoes are UO, and this is the first time I have worn them without seriously regretting it by the end of the day. They are finally stretching out and getting cozy.

Allison and I went and saw Harry Potter Friday afternoon. I was obviously too excited to stand still for her to take a picture.

Last night Allison got the full picture of my outfit, which I really need to start doing instead of awkwardly squashing myself into the frame of Photo Booth in my office. I didn’t realize she was still taking pictures and, of course, I reverted back to my natural state of making silly faces. She caught a ~~pretty~~ good one.

Yesterday was the first time I wore this faux lace dress from Pins and Needles. It was so comfy, minus the tag which my coworker had to rip out with a pair of staple removers. After that, it was smooth sailing.

You will soon realize I am obsessed with blazers. I have a whole rack in my closet dedicated to my collection, and I will make any excuse to wear one. This one is from Uniqlo, and it’s a cotton summer weight that wasn’t too bad yesterday when it was about 90 degrees. And it is quite cozy in my igloo of an office.

For some reason I have been getting a ton of compliments on this bag today, although I have been carrying it every day for about 4 months. After drooling over it on the J Crew website for a few weeks I finally broke down and bought it. It is like a Mary Poppins bag: it looks normal size, but you just wait until I pull out a tall lamp and umbrella. Maybe if I play my cards right there will one day be a huskie puppy waiting on me in the cell phone pocket. I can dream.

Anyways, this bag is wonderful. It is sold out now, but I highly recommend anything from the Brompton Collection from J Crew. The leather is incredibly soft and it is extremely durable. To change it up once in a while, I filter through some fun scarves that I have been given through the years but never really used. The one I have on there now is from the Frank Lloyd Wright collection from MoMA.

Every time I have tried to get a photo of my full outfit today someone has walked past my office and I have to pretend like I am up to get coffee or I am just looking for something. I need to find my actual camera soon, or enlist someone to just take a photo instead of using Photo Booth. Because those stances are super awkward. No way around it.

Anyways, I thought I would at least share these earrings I been obsessed with for the last few weeks. I searched for a long time for a pair of simple gold posts that I can wear with anything, but nothing to basic or too decorative. Then I found these. I can’t find them online anymore for a better photo, so you will just have to deal with my poor descriptive skills.

I love that they are a dull gold and not too shiny in a HEY LOOK AT THESE SPARKLE SPARKLE kind of way. They will blend in with anything I am wearing. They have a bit of depth to them, as the point on the bottom is actually an eighth of an inch or so away from my lobe, so they are definitely noticeable.

I am loving this pair, but it is just a matter of time until I lose one and I will be searching again. So, just like my mentality with my BDG jeans, I’ll just start searching now, while I’m a head. I found both of these pairs from UO. I fell in love with the first pair, but then as I was scrolling I found the second pair. Which are really similar and a tenth of the price. Either way, I accept presents at any of of the year… ahem…

I know I am cheating. Again. I took this yesterday morning before work and forgot to post it last night. Please disregard my disaster of a bedroom.

Yesterday I went with my absolute favoritre BDG skinnies. I first purchased a pair of these babies 4 years ago, and since I have been buying a new pair a year once the previous pair have met their demise. Even in the summer they are perfect. It was a bit of a risk wearing them to work since they are denim with patch pockets, but not one person seemed to care, or notice. So these will be reappearing in the future.

The pants were an excellent choice until about 3:00 when I was leaving a meeting with an attractive co-worker when I discovered my zipper is broken and won’t go up anymore. Oh well, I have a replacement pair on stand by! Thank god…

This sheer chiffon blouse from Anthro was a comfy choice for this stupidly hot weather. I just got it last weekend in Richmond. Once I get going with posting on a regular basis I will also include new acquisitions. I shop way too much, and I always want to tell everyone about everything I buy. You will be that person.

I will have to confess that I have already broken my own challenge. I have worn this dress to work twice within 30 days. I just cannot help it, this dress is the most comfortable thing I own (after this new American Apparel pull over, which will have to have its own post). Virginia has been deathly hot and humid the last few days and this dress was perfectly lightweight to throw on with a simple sweater and brave the heat, and the igloo that is my office (seriously, I can’t feel my fingers).

The dress is currently on sale at UO. Go grab it while its hot. (Pun intended.)

Having a normal, 9-5 job has been fantastic for playing with all of the clothes I own, and trying to make them work appropriate. When I was initially shopping for office clothes, I was focusing on blouses and high waisted skirts, but then I realized that I would not be dressing like myself.

So, then came the fun. Buying pieces that I love, and not buying them just because they are “work appropriate.”

Then the challenge. Attending a women’s college for 4 years kind of makes you forget how to dress yourself on a daily basis. ”Running shorts 4 days in a row to class? Don’t mind if I do!”

Dressing every day for the past few weeks has been fantastic. Plus, I now have a legit reason to wear blazers every day. Although, the downside is that I am prone to be an outfit repeater. I will post every day what I am wearing, and I will not wear the same outfit for at least 30 days.

Sadly, that is difficult for me.
